Brač and Split: Local Engagement for Climate Neutrality
The CO2 PACMAN Rooting Lab, held in Brač and Split, Croatia, brought together local communities to discuss small but meaningful changes to help protect the environment. Participants shared their efforts in natural gardening, waste separation, recycling, and choosing cycling over cars as sustainable practices to reduce their environmental footprint.
In addition to discussing everyday actions, we also asked locals whether they believe climate change is a concern. Most agreed, highlighting the global risks and rising temperatures as key reasons for their concern. However, a few expressed the belief that changes in nature are normal and not alarming.
We also explored ideas on what governments and companies should do to improve environmental protection. Suggestions included implementing stricter environmental policies, stopping chemtrails, encouraging small changes in waste disposal and energy-efficient tools, and creating better legislation to raise public awareness about the importance of environmental protection.
The workshop fostered valuable conversations and highlighted the importance of both individual and institutional contributions in the fight against climate change.
