Campaign of World Recycling Day
The “Global Recycling Day” 🌍♻️ campaign was held on March 18, 2022, at the Municipal Educational Center “Precious plastic” in Beloslav. ♻️ The campaign was entitled “Working together to improve our environment and raise children to care for nature.” The curious children from Otets Paisiy Primary School, Beloslav, took part in it.
The project team, together with their partners, presented a presentation to the participants, in which the main terms were explained:
1) reduce;
2) reuse;
3) recycle;
4) composting.
The fourth-grade scholars watched the presentation, through which they recalled the rules for separate waste collection. Through the garbage story tell, they concluded that they should practice recycling. There was a quiz in which the little participants presented themselves brilliantly. In the end, to reduce environmental pollution, the children used waste – plastic and paper – and each of them made art – a picture on the theme of “World Recycling Day”.
This is the third event of the project, “Introduction of an innovative model for reducing the amount of plastic waste in the marine environment from land-based sources”, funded by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA FM) 2014-2021 under the Program “Conservation of environment and climate change. ” The initiative aims to engage scholars and their families to collect their waste separately and show how plastic waste can become a valuable household material.
The event organizers are the Municipality of Beloslav and the Green Industry Innovation and Technology Transfer Foundation, which are implementing the project in partnership with Ecoinvest Assets AD and International Development Norway.
Participants received certificates, great mood and new knowledge about recycling. The team of Beloslav Municipality expresses its gratitude to all those who contributed to the celebration of the World Recycling Day and all participants in the Children’s Drawing Competition “Our Clean Sea” – our challenge to young artists in the municipality of Beloslav.
We expect to announce the names of all participants in the competition and their works soon.
